Statewide Recovery Services

We offer repossession services and recovery work for banks, dealers, and individual lienholders across cities from Cleveland to Cincinnati, Toledo to the river towns, and all 88 counties in between.

It's a dense market for recovery work. Vehicles move quickly on I-71, I-75, I-77, and the Turnpike, and a borrower behind on payments in Parma can have the truck sitting at a cousin's place outside Mansfield by the weekend. When that happens, skip tracing services narrow things down before a recovery crew wastes a trip.

Ready to move on a vehicle? Send the lien, the borrower's details, and the last good address. Most files get a first review the same day — call today if you'd rather talk the recovery through first. It's a toll-free line.

How Files Get Worked Here

Files come in from every part of the state, and the recovery approach depends on where the vehicle sits. Metro accounts lean on trained field agents, camera-car sweeps, and license plate recognition technology watching apartment lots and shift-change parking at the plants. A vehicle sitting in plain view gets photographed and verified before anyone commits. Rural accounts run on drive-bys, drive time, and a little patience.

Akron and Dayton files often break on apartment sweeps; Lorain and the lakeshore lean seasonal, marinas in summer, storage rows after the docks come out. Experience picks the angle, but the process doesn't change: secure the vehicle legally, document its condition, and get it recovered clean the first time. Clients get updates at every stage — intake, verification, pickup, and release, and our team runs a compliance-first recovery process: no breach of the peace, photos at pickup, personal items inventoried and held for the borrower.

From Sedans to Semis

Here's what we recover:

Sending a File: What's Required, What Helps

Required: a signed service agreement and hold-harmless, the borrower's name and last known address, the VIN and plate, and the contract or lien paperwork showing your position.

Helpful: employer and shift, apartment complex names, repair-shop history, marina or storage details, family addresses, and any old home address history you have on file even a stale address gives the trace a starting point.

Most clients only have part of this — that's fine. We'll tell you what's missing and help find the rest.

Voluntary Surrenders

Not every file needs a tow truck at dawn. When a borrower agrees to give the vehicle up, a voluntary surrender saves everyone time and money no confrontation, no damage dispute, and usually a much better condition report. Sometimes your customer just needs the ask: one professional contact attempt can turn a contested recovery into a voluntary handoff.

We provide the handoff plan where the vehicle gets dropped or picked up, keys, and secure storage until you decide on transport or sale. For creditors it's the most efficient outcome on the board, and the process is easier on everyone. Experience says the early asks convert; files that sit for months don't.

Title, Lien & Transfer Notes

Title Forms: Vehicle titles run through the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles and the county clerk of courts — a quirk worth knowing here: the clerks issue the certificates, not the BMV directly.

Repossession Title: To receive one, BMV guidance says the lienholder surrenders the existing certificate assigned in its name and pays the fee.

Recording: Handled with the Clerk of Court where the original certificate was issued. Liens are recorded on the face of the certificate itself.

Redemption Window: Older summaries list a twenty-day redemption period after recovery — plan on holding the vehicle through that window before disposal.

Election of Remedies: The old summaries note that repossessing may bar suit for the price and vice versa, and that judgment notes are valid here. Confirm current notice and sale requirements with counsel for the specific contract.

Transfer Documents: Plan on the certificate reduced to the lienholder's or repossessor's name, a certified copy of the contract, and a notarized power of attorney. Confirm the packet with the clerk before transfer.

Plates: They stay with the owner and may be transferable to the repossessor — verify BMV practice before transfer.

Phone it in or submit everything through the site. Flag anything unusual up front — border movement toward Michigan, a vehicle that may already be gone, a borrower with a history of hiding collateral. The intake process takes minutes, and we'll provide a straight answer on how the recovery should run.
